10 Travellers Abducted in Ogun as Kidnappers Demand ₦25m Ransom

Fear has gripped families after 10 passengers, including a recently discharged NYSC graduate, were kidnapped by gunmen along the Ijebu-Ode–Ibadan Road in Ogun State.

The victims were travelling in a commercial bus when armed men reportedly intercepted them and whisked them away into a nearby forest.

The kidnappers have allegedly demanded ₦25 million for their release, giving the victims’ families a 24-hour deadline to raise the ransom.

According to reports, one of the two corps members on board managed to escape and raise the alarm following the attack.

The abductors reportedly contacted the victims’ families, leaving them desperate for answers and worried about the safety of their loved ones.

The families are now appealing to the Ogun State Government, security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify rescue efforts and ensure the safe return of the 10 passengers.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the growing insecurity on Nigerian highways, with travellers increasingly exposed to kidnapping attacks.
