Tinubu Returns From France to Lagos Amid Renewed Health Speculation.
LAGOS — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria from France, arriving in Lagos on Tuesday evening after spending about four weeks in Europe on what the Presidency described as a working vacation.
Tinubu arrived at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 6:22 p.m. aboard Nigerian Air Force One. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other senior officials were among those who received him.
His return followed an extended stay in Europe that began on August 30, when he departed Nigeria for London before proceeding to Paris, France. The Presidency had subsequently announced that his working vacation would be extended by several days.
The President’s prolonged absence from Nigeria had generated public discussion and renewed speculation about his health, including unverified claims circulating online about an alleged cancer-related medical condition.

Rather than returning directly to Abuja, Tinubu chose Lagos as his first destination following his European trip.
According to the Presidency, the President is expected to remain in Lagos for several days, where he will hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates. He is also scheduled to participate in activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The President is expected to attend an Independence Day event and the premiere of a film honouring the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Lagos, on October 1.
