Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday met with President Bola Tinubu behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Adeleke arrived at the Villa at exactly 5:25 p.m., according to a correspondent who witnessed his arrival.
The governor, dressed in a navy blue traditional outfit and carrying a walking stick, arrived in a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The meeting is Adeleke’s first with Tinubu since his re-election as Osun State governor in last Saturday’s governorship election.
Four other officials from Osun State were also seen arriving at the Presidential Villa through the corridors at about 5:40 p.m.
The purpose of Thursday’s meeting was not immediately disclosed.
Adeleke’s visit came days after Tinubu personally called to congratulate him on his victory in the Osun governorship election.
In his congratulatory message, the President described Adeleke’s victory as “a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country” and urged the governor to unite the people of Osun State, irrespective of their political choices during the election.

Tinubu also commended the other contestants for their participation in the election, saying their involvement had contributed to Nigeria’s democratic culture.
The President further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
Adeleke was declared the winner of the August 15 election after defeating his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
