Who Authorised the Flight? — Brother of Air Force Officer Killed in Ondo Crash Demands Answers

The brother of a Nigerian Air Force sergeant who died in a recent aircraft crash in Ondo State has accused the Air Force of operating a faulty aircraft and attempting to downplay the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

In an emotional video circulating online, the grieving man alleged that his sister had informed him of a technical problem with the aircraft before the crash.

He claimed the aircraft was travelling from Abuja to Lagos but stopped in Benin after reportedly developing a mechanical fault. He questioned the Air Force’s description of the journey as a routine flight from Benin to Lagos.

The bereaved brother also raised concerns about the welfare of military personnel, revealing that his sister, who had served for over 11 years, requested ₦17,000 from him shortly before the incident.

He further alleged that he had received no official communication from the Air Force five days after the crash, despite being his sister’s next of kin.

Expressing his grief, he spoke about the pain of losing his sister and the difficulty of comforting their mother.

He called for a thorough investigation into the aircraft’s reported technical problems, the decision to proceed with the flight and the circumstances surrounding the crash.
