Alwan Hassan, spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for what he described as efforts to expand access to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for children from poor backgrounds.
Hassan said that before the current administration, many children from disadvantaged families had limited access to ICT facilities and opportunities to acquire digital skills. He argued that the Tinubu government had taken steps to make technology and knowledge more accessible to them.
The APC spokesperson also praised the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), claiming that the agency had achieved more under the current administration than former President Goodluck Jonathan accomplished during his six years in office.
Hassan further contrasted the APC’s campaign message with Jonathan’s past campaign approach, which he said featured cassava and bread.
According to him, the APC is choosing to campaign on knowledge rather than food, placing emphasis on technology, education and skills development.
“We refuse to campaign with food; we are campaigning with knowledge,” Hassan said.
His remarks reflect the APC campaign’s effort to highlight technology and knowledge-based development as part of Tinubu’s record ahead of the 2027 general elections.
