Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political opponents to stop age-shaming him ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Omokri made the call in a post on X on Saturday, where he shared an old photograph of Tinubu from 1993, when he was a senator.
Introducing the photograph, Omokri wrote: “This is then-Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu from 1993, thirty-three years ago.”
He added that more photographs from the period, together with their metadata, were available.
“Many more photos like this, along with their metadata, exist. I therefore urge the major contestants to make the 2027 elections about issues, not about tabloid sensationalism or age-shaming their opponents. Nigeria deserves better candidates, not bitter ones!” he wrote.
The post comes amid renewed political discussions around the age and personal history of President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
