NYSC Suspends Corps Members’ Deployment to Cross River Over Poor Camp Facilities

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reportedly suspended the deployment of corps members to Cross River State for the 2026 Batch C Stream II Orientation Course over the poor condition of facilities at its Obubra Orientation Camp.

The NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. OO Nafiu, reportedly gave the directive following an inspection visit to the camp on October 10, 2026.

The development comes ahead of the orientation course scheduled to commence on November 4, 2026, raising concerns about the camp’s readiness to accommodate and provide adequate facilities for prospective corps members.

The suspension is reportedly aimed at addressing the condition of the camp before corps members arrive for the exercise. However, further details on the specific facilities affected, the timeline for repairs and whether the orientation schedule will change have yet to be confirmed.
