Nigerians Know You for Your Compassion, Kindness — Tinubu Celebrates First Lady at 66

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, praising her compassion, kindness, faith and years of support to him and their family.

In a birthday message shared on Monday, September 21, the President described Oluremi as his “truest friend and confidante” and reflected on their journey together over the years.

“Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage,” Tinubu said.

He recalled the support his wife had given him through difficult periods, saying she remained calm and prayed with him whenever the future appeared uncertain.

“In difficult times, when the future was uncertain, you stayed calm beside me and prayed with me,” he said.

Tinubu also described Oluremi as someone who speaks honestly to him, even when her counsel may be difficult to hear.

“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” he said.

The President praised her role in their family, saying their children and grandchildren had grown under the influence of her faith and values.

He also highlighted Oluremi’s humanitarian work, recalling her involvement with the New Era Foundation during their years in Lagos and her work through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

“Nigerians know you for your compassion, kindness, generosity of spirit and steadfast faith,” Tinubu said.

He added that her efforts had touched the lives of young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country.

According to the President, Oluremi had also advocated for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases, describing her as “a compassionate advocate and a determined champion.”

Tinubu said her concern for others extended beyond ethnic, regional and religious differences.

“For you, compassion has never recognised the boundaries of tribe, region or religion,” he said.

Reflecting on their marriage, the President said the years they had spent together had included difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer.

He expressed gratitude for the life they had built together and prayed for his wife to enjoy many more years in good health and happiness.

“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi. I pray that God Almighty will grant you many more years in good health and joy,” Tinubu said.

He concluded by telling the First Lady that if he had the opportunity to begin his life again, he would still choose the path that brought them together.

“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” he said.
