Leadership is not merely about occupying an office. Leadership is about confronting difficult problems, taking responsibility and leaving tangible evidence of service behind.
Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has demonstrated this in a way that deserves public recognition.
From the payment of long-standing pension and gratuity arrears dating back to the creation of Ebonyi State in 1996, to sustained attention to workers’ welfare, the administration has placed dignity at the centre of governance. The Federal Information Centre reported in May 2026 that arrears of pensions and gratuities from 1996 to date had been cleared.
And the story does not end with workers and retirees.
Across Abakaliki and communities throughout Ebonyi State, citizens can point to roads, schools, healthcare interventions, rural infrastructure and other visible projects. Reports on the administration’s infrastructure programme include the Abakaliki inland road network, major inter-community roads and projects extending into rural communities.
This is why governance must ultimately be measured by what people can see, what workers receive, what retirees can take home and what communities can point to.
Governor Nwifuru’s administration has also made workers’ welfare a major part of its agenda, including salary improvements, training, health-insurance coverage and other interventions.
THE QUESTION IS SIMPLE: WHAT DOES EBONYI DO WITH A GOVERNOR WHO HAS DELIVERED?
The answer is equally simple:
GOOD SERVICE DESERVES MORE SERVICE.
When a government restores dignity to retirees, pays workers, invests in communities and continues to execute development projects, the conversation should not be reduced to political noise.
The people deserve the opportunity to examine the evidence, compare the records and decide what kind of leadership they want to continue.
For us, the message is clear:
EBONYI MUST KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
People first.
Service before politics.
Development before distraction.
Results before rhetoric.
