Arodiogbu Cautions Cubana Chief Priest Over Comment Against Gov. Nwifuru

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman for the South-East, Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu, has cautioned popular socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, over his recent public comments calling on Ebonyi State Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to resign.

Cubana Chief Priest had, in a social media post, questioned the developmental record of the Nwifuru administration, claiming the governor had spent nearly three years in office without major projects commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu or other governors. He further alleged that Ebonyi lagged behind other South-East states in development and urged the governor to step down.

Reacting to the remarks, Dr. Arodiogbu urged the socialite to exercise restraint and avoid statements capable of undermining the efforts of elected leaders in the region. The APC South-East leader described Governor Nwifuru as one of the performing governors in the South-East whose administration has recorded significant strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and human capital development under the People’s Charter of Needs agenda.

Arodiogbu advised Cubana Chief Priest, who has been active in APC support structures including the City Boy Movement in Imo State, to channel his energy towards constructive engagement and support for the party’s developmental agenda rather than public attacks on sitting governors. He noted that while freedom of expression is guaranteed, public figures should verify facts before making sweeping statements that could mislead the public or create unnecessary tension.

The caution comes amid growing reactions to Cubana Chief Priest’s comments. Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, had earlier condemned the remarks in strong terms, describing them as an affront to the people of Ebonyi and calling for an apology.

Arodiogbu futher pointed to ongoing and completed projects across the state, including road networks, new universities, expanded scholarship programmes, healthcare upgrades, and industrial initiatives, as evidence of steady progress since 2023.

Dr. Arodiogbu reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to unity and development in the South-East, urging all stakeholders, including entertainers and business leaders aligned with the party, to promote the achievements of the Renewed Hope administration at both federal and state levels ahead of the 2027 general elections.
