The All Progressives Congress has denied reports that it withdrew the list of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council for review.
The report had surfaced after the party released the 108-member council on Saturday, with some reactions following the inclusion of certain names and the omission of others.
But the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, dismissed the withdrawal report as a rumour.
Speaking to TheCable on Tuesday, Morka said the party had not withdrawn the list and that any changes, if necessary, would be officially announced.
“Rumours are not news,” he said.
The campaign council was unveiled on August 22 as part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
President Bola Tinubu was named chairman, while Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, were appointed vice-chairmen.
Former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, was named Director-General of the council, with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary.
The composition of the council has, however, continued to generate reactions from political groups and opposition parties.
For now, the APC says there is no withdrawal of the list. Morka added that if the party decides to make any changes, it will communicate them officially.
