Justice Crack Sues Nigerian Army for ₦5.3bn Over Alleged Torture, Detention and Damaged Car.

Nigerian social media activist Chidiebere Justice Mark, popularly known as Justice Crack, has dragged the Nigerian Army, the Chief of Army Staff and the Attorney-General of the Federation before the Federal High Court in Abuja, demanding more than ₦5 billion in damages over alleged violations of his fundamental rights.

In the suit, Justice alleged that he was arrested, detained, and tortured by the Nigerian Army over what he described as a false publication and an alleged breach of the Army’s social media policy.

He further claimed that the Army seized and impounded his Hyundai saloon car on April 28, 2026, and only released it on June 9, allegedly in a damaged condition.

Justice is asking the court to declare the alleged arrest, detention, and other actions against him unconstitutional, unlawful, and illegal

He is also seeking an order restraining the Nigerian Army and its officers from further arresting, detaining, or investigating him in connection with the matter.

As part of his claims, the activist is demanding ₦5 billion in exemplary damages for alleged humiliation, harassment, intimidation, hardship, and suffering.

He is additionally seeking ₦100 million over the alleged seizure and damage to his vehicle, as well as another ₦200 million in general damages.

The suit is now before the Federal High Court in Abuja, where Justice is seeking judicial redress over the alleged treatment he received from the military.
