The much-anticipated movie, Uzoamaka Nwa Abakaliki, presented by popular comedian and filmmaker I Go YAN STUFF, is set for its grand unveiling on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The movie is conceived as a cultural and humanitarian project celebrating the personality, humanitarian engagements and public service initiatives associated with the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Chief Mrs Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, while also showcasing the distinctive character, traditions, values and everyday experiences of the people of Abakaliki.

According to the producer, the film is designed to go beyond conventional entertainment by presenting a cinematic representation of the typical Abakaliki man and the social realities that have shaped the identity of the people.

I Go YAN STUFF, known for his distinctive comic style and creative storytelling, is poised to use the movie to bring the Abakaliki identity to the screen through humour, culture, family values, community life and the resilience of the people.

The title, Uzoamaka Nwa Abakaliki, itself carries a strong cultural identity, with the production drawing attention to the rich heritage and peculiar characteristics associated with Abakaliki people.

The film also seeks to spotlight the humanitarian dimension of the First Lady’s public activities, particularly initiatives and engagements directed at women, children, families and vulnerable members of society.

Rather than presenting Abakaliki merely as a geographical location, the production seeks to portray it as a people with a distinctive way of life, language, humour, communal values, entrepreneurial spirit and strong attachment to family and community.

The producer is expected to deploy comedy and drama as vehicles for telling a story that audiences can identify with, while creating a production capable of projecting Ebonyi’s cultural identity beyond the state.

The October 3 unveiling is therefore expected to attract entertainers, government officials, community leaders, cultural enthusiasts, media practitioners and residents who share an interest in the promotion of Ebonyi’s creative industry and cultural heritage.

The production represents an intersection of entertainment, culture, social commentary and humanitarian recognition, with the First Lady’s name and activities serving as an important inspiration behind the project.

For I Go YAN STUFF, Uzoamaka Nwa Abakaliki is more than a movie title; it is an attempt to capture on screen what he describes as the true nature of the typical Abakaliki man—the humour, struggles, resilience, communal spirit, ingenuity and cultural pride that define everyday life.

As the curtain rises at the Ecumenical Centre on October 3, Uzoamaka Nwa Abakaliki promises to offer audiences an entertaining cultural experience while placing Abakaliki’s identity and humanitarian values at the centre of the conversation.
