Police Seal Fake Alcohol Factory in Lagos, Arrest 48-Year-Old

The Lagos State Police Command has sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly used to produce adulterated alcoholic drinks in the Yafin area of Badagry.

A 48-year-old man, Anaebo Emeka Hilary, was also arrested at the premises during the operation.

The command said its operatives acted on information provided by members of the public before discovering the suspected factory.

According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the operation led to the recovery of suspected adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, different wine labels and various utensils allegedly used in the production and packaging of the drinks.

“The operation led to the arrest of Anaebo Emeka Hilary, ‘m’, 48 years, at Yafin, Badagry, Lagos State, where the suspected illegal factory was located,” the statement said.

The police subsequently sealed the facility, while Hilary was taken into custody.

The recovered items were also moved to the police station as investigations continued.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the officers involved in the operation and urged residents to continue providing credible information that could help the command identify suspected criminal activities..
